Tony was born in the south coast of
England
and has travelled widely developing his highly personal styles and
distinctive techniques from the many indigenous cultures he
encountered on his travels.
Although Tony graduated with an Honours
degree in Biology and Geology, he found the constraints of a
regular job too restricting to fulfil his dream of painting.
He decided to set himself free and studied at Glasgow
School of Art before moving to the
Isle of Wight
in 1994 to work full time as an Artist.
The landscapes of the British coastline have
been his inspiration for these impressionistic wave scenes on
driftwood which he collected from the local beaches.
He seeks out wild and untamed coasts and can be found out
there in all seasons and weathers.
He prefers to work from life to capture the varied light
and atmosphere and the wildness of the waves which has become a
hallmark of many of his paintings.
